We mourn the loss of one of our family jewels. Jeanette Lowe was called to heavens gates on Wednesday morning, January 25, 2017. Known to many as Lil’ Auntie, although she was not an Alford by blood, she was a part of our family and she will be truly missed. She was also a treasured guest at Alford reunions and gatherings for many-many years. She was 96 years young.
Cherishing her memory are her niece, Hedy Jackson (Edward); great-nephew, Edward “Kip” Jackson, Jr.; and a host of family member and friends.
Jeanette Lowe was the sister-in-law of Major Alford (Maggie), who is the son of Wesley Dow Alford, and G/Grandson of Matthew Solomon Alford.
Homegoing Services were held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her final resting place is at
Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Spencer, Oklahoma.
