Sylvester “Syl” Alford Academic Achievement Award Scholarship
On June 2, 2019, the Dallas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi awarded the first Sylvester Alford Academic Achievement Scholarship. The fraternity created this award to honor Syl’s dedication to academics and service to community youth.
This year’s recipient, Micah L. Blanton was awarded a $3000.00 scholarship. He is a Dallas native and member of the Kappa League. This fall he will be attending The University of Texas in Austin and majoring in film.
Sylvester Joe Keith Alford, II, is the son of Sylvester Clement Alford; Grandson of Wesley Dow Alford; and G/Grandson of Matthew Solomon Alford.
