Mourning the Loss of Marvin Charles Black

It is with deep sorrow that we share news of the passing of Marvin Charles Black. Marvin was born on August 27, 1941, in Atlanta Georgia to Ethel H. Black Gieger and Charles Black. He was the only child born to this union.
Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents, stepfather Freeman Gieger; son Timothy Eric Logan and brother Melvin Black. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Merdine Alford-Black; daughters Frankie “Penny” Black and Mytia “Tay” Black-Green (Fredrick); sister Charla Black-Edwards (Kenneth); grandsons Jared T. Green and Lloyd Logan; granddaughters Loren E. Green, Peyton K. Green, Ariana Giorgianni and Anastasia Logan; two great-grandchildren; two uncles; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Graveside Services were held on March 13, 2020 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
Merdine is the daughter of George and Bernice Alford; Granddaughter of Wesley Dow Alford; and G/Granddaughter of Matthew Solomon Alford.
