David LaRue Carter passed away in his home on January 4, 2021, at the age of 68 from Covid-19. Per his wishes, no f
uneral services will be held. His ashes will be spread later this spring. Th
e family requests your continued prayers as they go through their bereavement.
Dave was a long-time resident of Bloomington, Minnesota. His hard work and dedication were evident by all who knew him. His family circle included many friends made during his career as a transit
operator for Everett Transit and the City of Everett. Dave was a man of deep faith who was passionate about politics and his love for muscle cars.
He is preceded in death by parents, Antonia Carter and Carl Leon Carter. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy Carter; daughter, Shamim Carter-Garvis (Leon); son, Nathan Carter; brother, Anthony “Tony” Carter (Karen, deceased); sister, Carol Toombs-Reid; brothers, Frederick Carter and John Carter; grandson’s, Daron Garvis and Quinton Garvis; granddaughter, Janai Garvis; nephews, Thaddeus Toombs, Jordan Carter and Patrick Carter; niece, Tasha Toombs; and a host of family and friends.
Dave is the son of Antonia Alford-Carter; grandson of James Willie Alford; and g/grandson of Lafayette “Fate” Alford.
