Dr. Simpson gave nearly 40 years of service to education at Langston University serving in a number of capacities. She was a well-respected educator, role model, mother, grandmother, wife, mentor and friend. Dr. Simpson retired from her beloved Langston University as Dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences in 1987.
During her time at LU, she served in numerous capacities serving as a Chemistry Professor, Dean of Women, and the Dean of Education. Even after her retirement, she came back to work as a consultant to assist with the accreditation process in the School of Education as late as the mid-1990s and taught for the newly established Graduate Program in the School of Education.
