Mourning Areko Kacygin Patton II

February 27, 1996 — March 19, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Areko Kacygin Patton II, who departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the age of 28, following a brief illness.

Areko was distinguished by his keen sense of humor, a facet of his personality that endeared him to many. He held a deep passion for music and held a special love for the sport of basketball. His heart was big and he man of deep reflection. Despite encountering challenges, he exhibited resilience and determination, striving diligently to effect positive changes in his life.

In addition to his many interests, Areko was known for his profound love for his mom. More than anything, he cherished his role as a devoted father, finding immense joy in nurturing his three beloved children, who held a special place in his heart. Areko also found pleasure and fulfillment in the company of his family and a close circle of friends.

In the embrace of heavenly repose, Areko is reunited with his beloved grandmother, Lillian A. Patton, and aunt, Candice Brown.

He is survived by his grieving parents, along with his cherished offspring: sons, Bently A. Harper and Kyryn K. Patton, and daughter Navaeh D. Patton. Areko is also mourned by his grandfather, Jimmy Samuels; brothers, Terrin Javon Patton and Deonte’ J. Patton; sister, Jade Watson; uncles, Roderick Samuels-Gower and Cameron B. Samuels-Brown; as well as a multitude of extended family members, cousins, and dear friends.

During this time of profound loss, we earnestly request your continued thoughts and prayers for Areko's bereaved family as they navigate through this period of sorrow and adjustment.
