Pearl Soror Violet Alford-Patterson


The Alpha Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma congratulates one of its charter members, Soror Violet Alford Patterson, who recently celebrated 73 years of continuous membership and was a member of the Inaugural Class of Pearl Sorors. Soror Patterson began her AKA journey after being initiated into the Alpha Zeta Chapter, Langston University, Langston, Oklahoma in 1948. Soror Patterson is a Life Member and has served various chapters in a variety of offices; including Basileus.

Soror Patterson earned a Bachelors Degree from Langston University and a Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University. She’s a retired educator and administrator.

Soror Patterson’s Alpha Kappa Alpha legacy includes her sister, the late Dr. Wessylyne A. Simpson who served as the 22nd Mid-Western Regional Director; two daughters; one granddaughter; and numerous cousins, nieces and great-nieces.
